Considering voting for Huckabee in the January 15th primary? Well you’ve come to the right place. Here in Grand Rapids we have a great tradition of electing personable, respectable, talented Republican representatives and Mike Huckabee is just such a man. Here are just a few of the credentials that make him so uniquely suited to our community:
- Conservative – a solid track record as Governor of Arkansas on the major conservative issues, particularly social issues
- Electable – has already won the Iowa Caucus and as Governor of Arkansas won election twice in a state that is over 80% Democratic (only the second Republican Governor of that state since the Civil War)
- Accomplished – a cooperative participant in the political process that had a strong history of working well with Arkansas Democrats to improve their state
- Christian – a former Baptist minister and a man of unwavering principles
- Likable – a refreshing personality juxtaposed against the polished, evasive personalities of other Republican and Democratic candidates

Glad to see some support for Huckabee in my home town. I now live in Long Beach, California and surely miss the conservative environment of West Michigan. As a pastor, I am not a political guy because too many politicians see politics as the answer, and this is reflected in their politics. It seems thus far that Huckabee has a balanced understanding of what the role of politics should be, and is not in a grab for power. Lord willing, the way he seems to be will be the way he is, and I will finally have a candidate that I will enjoy voting for.
